The Gadhouse Duke & Roy Takes the Hassle Out of Turntable Shopping

Audiophiles know the hassle of buying gear. First you have to research and buy turntables, then think about amplifiers and speakers – not to mention any add-ons like subwoofers and wireless features. Gadhouse, however, is taking the hassle out of buying midrange audio gear, with the new Gadhouse Duke & Roy Hi-Fi Stereo Turntable System – perfect for buyers who want elevated audio, but don’t want to go all out. Gadhouse has made waves for its high-end yet affordable turntables that blend retro design with modern features, like the Gadhouse Brad turntable, and the Duke & Roy system represents a bigger shift into the higher-end. The Duke turntable has a beautiful natural oak body, which helps give it a classy look that could fit anywhere – and eschews the colorful look on offer by the company’s other turntables. That oak body is coupled with black accents in the form of the platter, tonearm, and feet – which only help accent the natural wood in a good way. The turntable, which is crafted from sustainably-sourced oak, offers a metal platter and a belt-drive system, along with a Ortofon 2N Red cartridge. It also has modern features like a Bluetooth transmitter and USB encoding. In other words, you don’t have to do away with modern features just because you want a great looking turntable.

Hollyland Lark M2S: Ultra-Compact Wireless Microphone

In the realm of filmmaking and video content creation, stunning visuals often take center stage. However, seasoned professionals know that audio is equally, if not more, critical to creating a truly immersive and engaging experience. High-quality, clear audio captures the nuances of dialogue, the richness of ambient sounds, and the emotional impact of music, drawing the audience deeper into the story. Poor audio, on the other hand, can be incredibly distracting, instantly breaking the illusion and diminishing the overall impact of even the most visually impressive production. One of the key challenges in achieving pristine audio, particularly in scenarios involving on-screen talent, is microphone placement. Visible microphones can be distracting, pulling the viewer out of the scene and breaking the fourth wall. This is where the art of concealing microphones comes into play, demanding both technical skill and creative problem-solving. And this is precisely where the new Hollyland Lark M2S wireless microphone system excels. The Lark M2S wireless mic system THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CONCEALED MICROPHONES Concealing microphones is essential for maintaining the visual integrity of a scene while capturing crystal-clear audio. Whether it’s a dramatic film, a documentary interview, or a dynamic vlog, hiding the microphone allows the audience to focus on the subject and the story without the distraction of visible equipment. Traditionally, concealing microphones has involved a variety of techniques, from using lavalier mics hidden under clothing to employing boom mics strategically positioned just out of frame. Each method has its own set of challenges, including issues with clothing rustle, inconsistent sound quality, and limitations in movement. The Hollyland Lark M2S offers a revolutionary solution to these challenges. This ultra-mini wireless microphone system is designed specifically for discreet recording, boasting an incredibly small and lightweight form factor that allows it to be easily hidden within an outfit.  With its advanced features and exceptional audio quality, the Lark M2S empowers filmmakers, vloggers, educators, and content creators to capture professional-grade sound without compromising the visual aesthetic. One of the standout features of the Lark M2S is its advanced Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC). With just a press, the ENC automatically minimizes background noise, ensuring that the subject’s voice remains prominent and clear, even in challenging environments.  Whether you’re shooting on a busy street, in a crowded room, or amidst the unpredictable sounds of nature, the Lark M2S helps you capture pristine audio. Furthermore, the system supports an impressive range of up to 984ft (300m), allowing for freedom of movement across large areas without losing connection—ideal for on-location shoots. 30-HOUR BATTERY WITH A PORTABLE CHARGING CASE Long shoots require reliable power, and the Lark M2S delivers. The Pro-Ject Signature 12.2 Is Its Most Advanced Turntable Yet

Pro-Ject Audio Systems has built a reputation for delivering exceptional value with turntables like the Debut Evo 2. However, the Austrian brand also caters to the high-end market, and its latest flagship model, the Pro-Ject Signature 12.2, exemplifies the pinnacle of the company’s engineering prowess. The Signature series serves as Pro-Ject’s platform for developing cutting-edge turntable technologies. The advancements made in the Signature 12.2 represent the culmination of years of research and innovation, with plans to eventually integrate these features into more affordable models across the brand’s lineup. Priced at $14,999, the Signature 12.2 offers a luxury listening experience. Each unit requires two full days to hand-polish and assemble its approximately 100 precision-machined components. All parts are manufactured in-house and subjected to a meticulous four-step quality control process, ensuring exceptional build quality and performance. At the heart of the Signature 12.2 is a newly developed 12-inch S-shaped tonearm, engineered to optimize anti-skating performance. The turntable features an adaptive anti-skating mechanism that increases corrective force as necessary, improving tracking accuracy. The tonearm is supported by a three-point pivot bearing system, which distributes stress across multiple points rather than relying on a traditional uni-pivot design. This minimizes friction and enhances the tonearm’s stability, allowing it to extract finer details from vinyl records. Pro-Ject has refined the turntable’s chassis with a TPE-decoupled, resonance-optimized aluminum alloy sub-chassis, designed to isolate the tonearm and platter from external vibrations. This system is further complemented by newly developed spring-loaded isolation feet, which enhance the turntable’s ability to reject unwanted vibrations and maximize sonic clarity. The Signature 12.2 employs Pro-Ject’s flywheel belt-drive system for smooth, vibration-free operation and features electronic speed control for precise playback at both 33 and 45 RPM. Additionally, the turntable now offers balanced output via a 5-pin DIN to XLR or mini-XLR cable, providing audiophiles with improved signal integrity and reduced noise. While the Signature 12.2 caters to discerning vinyl enthusiasts willing to invest in top-tier audio equipment, Pro-Ject intends to trickle down its innovations to more accessible models. This promises to bring high-end performance to a broader audience in the future. For those ready to pony up $14,999 to experience the ultimate in analog audio, the Pro-Ject Signature 12.2 is now available for purchase through the company’s website at project-audio.com.
